Information Affairs Authority, Manama, 19 July 2012: A suspect has been arrested from a list
of 20 men wanted in connection with a bomb plot in Bahrain. Hussain Isa Mohammed Isa
Adam has been charged with taking part in making bombs and carrying out criminal acts
across Bahrain. A large bomb-making operation came to light in a raid in Salmabad on June
14th (2012).
Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al-Hassan stated that Adam will face charges
for his alleged role in the bomb-making operation. The Ministry of Interior (MOI) is working
with experts from Scotland Yard to investigate the case in which 5 tons of material and 110
liters of chemicals were seized.
The Chief reiterated the MOI’s commitment to ensuring that Bahrain stays safe from terrorist
activity and stressed the community’s role in sharing information that may lead to the
conviction of the guilty parties. He stated that callers to the police hotline (80008008) may
remain anonymous.
