Information Affairs Authority, July 5, 2012: HE Sheikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al-
Khalifa, President of the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) attended a recognition
ceremony for IAA employees who completed an Intensive Media Training course
today. The course - organized by the Paris-based Center for Training and
Improvement of Journalists (CFPJ) – was welcomed by the IAA as part of their
strategy to progress towards further openness and professionalism in dealing with the
media.
Focusing on effective communication, the course trained participants in the fields of
public speaking, engagement with foreign media, and crisis communications. "This
training course will enable the IAA to respond in real time to the pressing needs of the
foreign media, with the Bahraini story," explained media trainer David Frohriep.
The IAA plans to continue implementing media training courses to achieve the longterm
objective of becoming a leader in the region and fostering successful
relationships with international media outlets.
"We are committed to giving our media team the best opportunities to build their
skills. They play a critical role in our ongoing efforts to project a clear and accurate
picture of Bahrain, " stated HE Sheikh Fawaz.
